Recap of VMware's VMworld Europe 2009

Feb. 26 2009 marked the conclusion of VMworld Europe 2009, a big-time industry even for all things related to virtualization, particularly desktop virtualization (using central servers and thin clients) and application virtualization.

Brian Madden has a good video recap of VMworld . It’s very worth checking out.  He talks about how VMworld is comparing VDI with traditional "fat clients".  That means old-school computing, not customers who have eaten too much…  Brian argues that they should have addressed VDI vs SBC and specifically Microsoft Terminal Services, as that is more of a competing solution to VDI than traditional fat clients.

Also, there were a number of big news items that hit this week.  triCerat , for example, announced that they are opening an office in Europe . triCerat makes VMware VDI solutions for print management and desktop management .

So lots of stuff going on there!  How about some more…
